Okay, there's a story here. First, I read reviews like crazy before getting the Piccolo on sale, in wide width. I was really taking a chance, because for the price I knew I had to try these, even tho a lot of reviews said size up and I normally get X-wide. So, double chance. I got my size in wide. They arrived today. I was astonished. They fit like a glove, and the design of these shoes means they really are waterproof. The tongue attaches to the vamp so dirt, bugs, water, negative ions, nothing is going to get through these to my happily cradled foot. I tried them on wearing thick socks, to really see if they would fit, and oh did they!!! I haven't been so happy with a shoe for EONS! So, I had my sis try them on, after I went on Amazon to try to get a 2nd pair for the same supersale price. It took me an hour popping around looking at all the brands and prices, because I could not duplicate the sale price, and I HAD TO HAVE ANOTHER PAIR FOR BACKUP, or in case my sister stole these. We share a house, and it happens rarely. Well, I was about to give up on finding another pair on supersale, until (!!!!!!!!!!!) there one was, only in was X-wide, which I knew in my heart of hearts would be a slightly better fit for me. They are now on order, will be here in 3 days. Right about then, I asked my sis to try on the wides, because I know what happens if they fit her. Her feet are narrower than mine, but still wide. They fit her PERFECTLY, and she gave me the puppy eyes because I told her I'd ordered another pair, figuring she was going to fall in love with them. So I guess she didn't exACTly steal them, but you try turning down puppy eyes. So, come 3 days from now, we will both have our supersale perfect Propet Piccolo shoes, with the fit to die for and happy feet.Okay, why do I love these so much. Well, that fit and comfort are first and foremost, and waterproof is second, that they work with my snow or mowing the lawn gaiters is third, and fourth is the sole which will probably grip glass ice. Best sole I've ever seen for grip, traction, and stability. Lastly, I was not sure about the bright orange accents because I have like 2 orange things in my entire year's wardrobe. I am not into orange. But these are so well done, not too much orange, and they just make me happy when I have them on! If you really want the sale price and are not into orange, carry a black sharpie and it will take care of it. But I now have 3 orange things in my wardrobe, and these are happy hikers. Do wear thick socks if you can, but they are comfy with a thinner sock too. ONLY ONE CAUTION: feel around inside the shoe toward the toes and see if the vamp is smooth, or a bit rumpled. Mine (now my sis's) had a small rumple right at the front, where it won't be a problem. When I wore them, I didn't feel it at all even tho I knew it was there, and she didn't feel it either. But that's the only caution. They are well made, and oh soooo comfortable. Some people may need to half-size up. I didn't. I only got the X-wide on the repurchase because I couldn't fine a pair in wide in the same size for even the regular price, which I could not afford. If I had the money, I would get both me and my sis back-up pairs, these hikers are that good. I've worn Propet before, for many years, so I know their quality. Both my sis and I feel these were custom-made for our feet. And we have very very different feet, too, so how strange is that? It means the design of the shoe is a good one. I'll recommend these to anyone, and know people will say, "Where did you get those????" as they wonder if they can get them off my feet and make a run for it with them. I'll tell them, go on Amazon!!! :D One (technically 2) very satisfied customers, I wish I could give more than 5 stars.
